Abstract

This handbook examines the bidirectional relationship between artificial intelligence and governance systems. Spanning 49 chapters across nine sections, it covers value foundations, regulatory ecosystems, governance frameworks, assessment and implementation, economic dimensions, domestic policy applications, and international politics. Contributors come from diverse disciplines including political science, computer science, economics, philosophy, and ethics, drawing on perspectives from academia, industry, think tanks, and civil society. The handbook addresses both the challenges and opportunities that AI presents for collective governance and individual wellbeing.
